I personally have an AT&T contract that provides for unlimited data and at one of the old (cheaper) monthly prices. As long as I don’t change my plan OR “upgrade” my phone, the old contract renews automatically. Also, if competition ever does result (however unlikely) in shorter contracts, I’d still be stuck with a long contract if I bought a locked phone. When my current iPhone is obsolete, why buy a locked phone to pay more for less and be trapped anew into a contract?
